TomTom is teaming up with Google Maps so that users can search for and send business addresses
directly from the Google Maps’ website to TomTom devices.

In fact, Google Maps local search pages have expanded their ‘Send to’ feature with the option ‘Send to GPS’. With one click TomTom users can benefit from this service without needing to download complicated zip files. The selected information is then transferred to the TomTom device when the device is connected to the Internet via TomTom HOME. Drivers can then navigate to their new destination, as well as view the location on the map of the TomTom device or save it as a ‘favorite’ on the device for later use. This is really cool !

Thumbnails and photos are automatically re-sized for your device's screen, so pictures look good and download fast; find more info here.
ps. Have you noticed that on Google Maps you can now click & drag to change destinations along your route ? If not, see the Google video and have a look here !

New feature from Google : When you upload a video to YouTube, you can now give coordinates for the associated video, in other words, you can give lat/long coordinates of the video to point its location on Google Maps.
There is no explanation on Youtube's blog for the moment but according to Gearthblog, the idea is to create KML files associated with the locations of the videos in order to be able to show videos tied to a search for a location.
See all details here.

And here is another geotagging photo site ! To see the value of using locr, look through your photos stored on your hard drive and ask yourself "where was I when I took that photo ?" Then you can upload your photos, the locr software assists in adding the location information either manually prompting the user to locate it using Google Maps, or linking to existing geo-data (from the GPS data devices). It is integrated with Wikipedia and GoogleMaps. Cool, isn't it?
Interested ? Have a look to this article (GpsPassion) for more info about geotagging photos.
