GPS for iPhone:this is real !

Gps_tomtom_iphon

There have been many rumors for getting GPS functionality on the iPhone, some of them are fake, some of them with embedded A-GPS.

But this time we know that it's real because partfoundry designed a real GPS receiver chip that can send the data to Google Maps to get driving and directions and possibly allow for other location based services.

The code for the application will be open source allowing users and the chip will be shipping on february 2008.
