This morning, at 4h36 GMT, NAVX successfully launched its first polar-orbiting satellite from the Europe 's space base in Kourou. The satellite will circle the globe from pole to pole at an altitude of about 921 km and disperse in the mesosphere billions of nano-geolox. The nano-geolox is a radio-emitting nano-particle, able to transmit very accurate atomic clock signals down to the earth. Mobile phones will be able to compute their exact location (latitude, longitude, altitude), by receiving and comparing billions of such signals. A free downloadable software patch will be necessary for mobile phones to perform the calculation. The nano-geolox NAVX patented technology creates a constellation of nano-satellites, providing an immensely more accurate positioning system than the current GPS system. The NAVX Global Nano Center located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will supervise the nano-geolox network and develop value-added geospatial solutions for two valuable niches of potential customers: kite surfers willing to compare their jumps, and cat owners keen to track their pets.
ps. Here is the video of Navx satellite, successfully launched from Kourou:
